IRI Fees Due and Updates.
June 29th, 2005
Registration fees ($350) and Friday night meal fees ($1 per attendee) are due Friday, July 1st. That is in 2 DAYS!! Many teams have sent their payment in, and we greatly appreciate it. For those of you who have sent a check and it is “in process”, we appreciate that also. Since the demand to compete at this year’s IRI was so high, we will need to stick by our payment stipulations.
If you are not sure how many people are going to eat with us on Friday night, it is not a big problem. Adding to your team’s headcount will cost $2 per person during the day of the event. We are doing this $1-per-person thing to get a good # of the headcount. If your team’s headcount for this dinner changes dramatically, please let us know.
Here: http://www.indianafirst.org/events/iri/registered-teams/ is our current team list. Teams 16 and 33 have been added since two teams have already dropped. Also, team 397 has been invited to play because 892 could not attend (the site does not show this yet). This team list may change in a few days also, so check it often.
Vex registration for the 32-team is currently taking place here: http://www.indianafirst.org/events/iri/2005vexreg/ This is a great way to get your younger or more timid FIRST kids involved on your team. The “Enter-Action” game that has been developed by team 447 is simple, uses only one Vex kit and will be played on a 14′ x 14′ field. This event will conclude before noon on Saturday, so the Vex competitors on your team could be involved in the finals of the robotics competition.
Also, we are still taking applications for the much anticipated “IRI Talent Show”: http://www.indianafirst.org/events/iri/iri-talent-show-rules-and-faq/. Last year’s event was great and this year’s will be even better.
Please be sure to pass this letter on to your teams. Also, if you know of ANYONE who wants to enter the Vex competition, please forward that information to them. Anyone can sign up!
See ya soon,
