Announcement: 2016 District Event Site Selection

Indiana FRC Teams‐

The 2016 FRC District Locations have been finalized. The IndianaFIRST Competition Committee, which is composed of volunteers from around the state, reviewed the bid proposals, visited sites, and evaluated potential event schedules.

Criteria that the committee considered included:
- Proximity to existing teams
- Availability of space to have a balanced calendar for the FRC season
- Cost
- Quality of event space

The committee had a difficult task of taking into account all of these factors to down‐ select the best options and create the best benefit for the FRC teams in Indiana. It required a lot of time and they presented the IndianaFIRST Board of Directors with two excellent proposals to review. The board would like to thank Liz Smith, Chris Noble, Brant Bowen, Allison Phelps, Brett Heininger, Collin Fultz, Keith Hall, George Giltner, and Mike Taylor for their time.

After final reviews, the sites chosen for the 2016 Indiana District Competitions are:

District Events

- Week 2 on 3/12 ‐ 3/13 (Sat & Sun)‐ FRC® Indiana District ~ Tippecanoe Event hosted at William Henry Harrison High School, West Lafayette.

- Week 3 on 3/19 ‐ 3/20 (Sat & Sun)‐ FRC® Indiana District ~ Walker Warren Event hosted at Warren Central High School, Indianapolis.

- Week 4 on 3/25 ‐ 3/26 (Fri & Sat)‐ FRC® Indiana District ~ Perry Meridian Event hosted at Perry Meridian High School, Indianapolis.

State Championship

- Week 7 on 4/14‐ 4/16 (Fri & Sat)‐ FRC® Indiana State Championship hosted at Memorial Gymnasium, Kokomo.

We want to thank all of the sites that submitted a proposal for review. Potential events sites for the 2017 season are encouraged to review the Bid Process for 2016 District & Championship Site Selection document now to prepare for next year.
