2016 FIRST World Championship
Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Time: 12:00 am
End Time: 12:00 pm
Event Contact: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Event Information: The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get. Volunteer professional Mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. To rank well during qualification matches, and advance through the playoff matches to the finals, teams will want to work to maximize their score for each match. Simply outscoring their opponents in a match does not guarantee an improved ranking. Information displayed to the audience after each match will show how the teams’ performance affected their rank in the tournament.
