October 7th 2015, marked the 100th year of Rolls-Royce operations in Indianapolis. In honor of the day, Rolls-Royce held a “Centennial Celebration” at the USPS Hub at Indianapolis Airport. To show thanks to Rolls-Royce for their continued support, two FRC teams demoed at the event, FRC 234 and FRC 1024.
Rolls-Royce employs 4,000 people in Indianapolis and of those employees, about 1,050 work in production and 1,400 are engineers. Rolls-Royce has been a strong supporter of the FIRST program for many years, and thank you to the volunteers and mentors that continue to support the program!
Other FRC teams came out for the day, to enjoy the festivities and learn more about Rolls-Royce and it’s history. FRC 1529 learned some cool facts about their alumni.
A great day, a great occasion, with excellent demonstrations from our FRC teams. Congratulations on the 100 years!! Thank you Rolls-Royce for your support of FIRST and the community.
